Things to do if you are living in Pattaya city or surrounding areas many people think Pattaya is still all about the beer bar scene, and years ago this was true with Pattaya city having a reputation for late night partying and staying in bed the following day,

Well over the years things have changed and in my opinion for the better as now you may still party in the many entertainment complexes such as walking street and the many beer bars on the Pattaya beach road till late in to the night,

As a Expat living  and working in the real estate industry in Thailand for over 20 years I have noticed some magnificent changes especially in the areas I have had the pleasure to live and work such as Pattaya Phuket and Koh Samui and a short time in the capitol City Bangkok.

The big difference now in the resort area of Pattaya is that it  has cleaned its act up, now there is multitude of things to do in Pattaya with some of the branded names now here such as The Marriot hotel, The Sheraton,  Hard  rock hotel and recently opened the world famous Hooters bar and restaurant on Pattaya beach road,

Take a stroll down the three kilometer Pattaya beach road and take in the breath taking beach and island views, don’t forget to taste some of the famed Thai Street food that you will find along the beach road, Sea Food, Som Tom, Tom yum gung, fried fish and Shellfish, there is some truly amazing food to be purchased from the Thai street vendors along the Pattaya beach road.

Experience some international standard shopping malls that Pattaya city has to offer such as Royal Garden Plaza with the famous Riplies believe it or not on the Top floor very good day out with the family,

A little further along beach road you find Central Festival one of the largest beach front shopping malls in south East Asia with the Food court on the ground floor, then on the upper floors there are numerous restaurant’s with fine dining from all corners of the world, 

You will find entertainment in Pattaya city for the entire family Cinema complex, Bowling, Legends pool hall with international standard tables, Magic Shows, AlCazar Cabaret show, Tiffanys  Lady boy show,  All different types of water sports,  Day trips to the many island s of the coastline of Pattaya Tiger zoos, rafting, adventure sports, water parks the list is endless you will never be bored with the amazing Pattaya city.

The cultural side of This great country is also very pleasant with the varied temples that are on offer to view Wat (Temple) Chai in South Pattaya is a way of seeing the Buddhist faith in the real form and not something made up for the tourist,

Note if you are visiting the Temples respect the ethics and dress code it is frowned upon for ladies not to have their shoulders covered and wearing reveling cloths is a complete Taboo, Please do not listen to the people who say once you have seen one temple you have seen them all, this is nonsense I have been luck enough to visit many temples and they are all very different in so many aspects.

As all good Thailand beach guides will tell you Jomtien has a 6 kilometer long straight stretch of a sandy coast line with much improved sidewalks for the pleasant early morning or sunset walks from your condominium or house, Jomtien beach is much quieter area than the local rowdy neighbor J to the north of Pattaya beach and the nightlife of walking street.

Saying that Jomtien beach still has plenty to offer with the clean beach and some of the finest international standard restaurant’s, as most expats and people who have had the pleasure of visiting Jomtien beach will tell you it is a must to try the exotic street food that Thailand is renowned for inexpensive and extremely tasty, Thai soups such as Tom Yum Gung, Barbecue fish, crab and prawns Thai salads all enjoyed at the side of the beach road or lazing on the ample deck chairs on Jomtien beach.

Many people myself included come here for a holiday and end up staying (I came for a holiday 21 years ago still here todayJ ) with the cost of renting property here condominiums houses or even pool villas being so affordable it is a big temptation, even the cost of buying a house or beach front condominium is inexpressive compared to other holiday destination on the beach.
